Reissuance of a Manufacturer's Certificate of Compliance

This is in response to your letter and our telephone conversation concerning reissuance of a manufacturer's certificate of compliance that is missing for an MC 331 cargo tank. You state that you have a copy of the ASME manufacturer's data report and the DOT specification plate and ASME plate are attached to the cargo tank.
As you were informed by telephone, the information contained in the ASME manufacturer's data report and marked on the DOT specification plate and the ASME plate may be used to produce a new certificate. The cargo tank must meet all test and inspection requirements ~ Both the owner and the Registered Inspector must sign the certificate certifying that the cargo tank fully conforms to the specification. See §§ 180.417(a)(3)(ii) and 180.417(c).
